The Hermandez Brother's seminal work Love and Rockets was one of the most influential alternative comix of the past decade. Gilbert's stories center around a mythical Mexican town of Palomar and all the complex relationships that brew there. His writing has at times been compared to Gabriel Garcia Marquez and the films of Robert Altman. Jaime's work focuses on a group of young Southern Californian Mexican American punk girls. Jaime's work is also noted for it's slick high-contrast style.
